Today we've focused on all things natural disaster - volcanoes and earthquakes in particular! We started our day by making poster illustrating how volcanoes are formed and how they erupt. We then went on to write Kennings (an ancient form of poetry) about volcanoes and earthquakes. Throughout the morning, we built 3D volcanoes, ready to erupt them in the afternoon, which was very dramatic and great fun for all! Finally, we faced the earthquake-proof structure challenge - using cocktail sticks and mini marshmallows to build a structure which could withstand been shaken about on a tray of jelly. Take a look at the fun we had below!
On Greek day, we dressed in our Greek finery and enjoyed a wonderful day of activities. We used wax crayon and acrylic paint to create our own Greek inspired scratch pots. We also learned about democracy in ancient Greece and enjoyed a feast of delicious Greek food.
