Courageous Advocacy

'Courageous advocacy’, which we instil in our pupils, enables our school community to develop a greater awareness of the challenges others face in life and how they, as individuals, can support causes and make a difference in our school community, local community and further afield.

We take time to reflect upon and appreciate how lucky we are to be part of such a nurturing school environment, surrounded by supportive peers and staff, which allows us to live life in all its fullness and flourish as individuals.

Supporting a wide number of charities, locally, nationally and globally, is an integral part of life at St Catherine's. Staff, children and parents regularly support and organise fund-raising events, with children even suggesting and organising events of their own.

Harvest Festival 2022

A huge thanks to all who have contributed to the AMAZING collection we've gathered for our local district foodbank. We know they will gratefully receive St Catherine's generous donations. We were lucky enough to have our Worship Warriors deliver worship in collaboration with Ysmena this week. They taught the school about the importance of the harvest and why we should be thankful for the rich abundance of produce we have, using a piece of artwork as their focal point.

Macmillan Coffee Afternoon 2022

Thank you to all who attended our Macmillan Coffee afternoon. We managed to raise a huge £585 for a great cause!

Giving Tree 2021

Following on from our very successful 'Giving Tree' in 2020, we have once again delivered huge amounts of presents to brighten someone's Christmas!

Harvest Festival 2019

For our Harvest Festival this year, children, staff and parents celebrated together through psalms, prayers, stories and song, led by Ysmena and children from Years 5 and 6.

Families donated generously to the Hertford and district foodbank, which they were incredibly thankful for.

Year 6 Cake Stall at St Mary's Church

During our Environmental Awareness Week, Year 6 learnt about the devastating effects of palm oil production on the rainforest and its wildlife, specifically orangutans. A group of children felt so strongly about this cause, they organised a charity cake stall, which they ran when we showcased our work at church. Everyone donated so generously and the cakes were a HUGE success!
