In Year 4 English lessons, we learn about how to add more detail to our sentences by using a range of fronted adverbials, conjunctions and punctuation. We continue to work on accurately applying our non-negotiables to all our writing. This includes: full stops, capital letters, commas after fronted adverbials and accurate spelling of key words.
In the Summer Term, we will learn how to read and write Playscripts. The children will also create their own explanation texts about the Mayans, which links with our topic. After half term, we will explore a whole-school book in our Take One Book project, along with writing and performing some poetry. We will also study a fictional unit called Against Time, which is based on an animation.
